BLOC was founded in 2022 in the premises of the old Warehouse Gym and TNT Gyms. Now under all new management, our focus has been providing a gym experience that goes beyond the commercial offerings found elsewhere. A home to gym goers who are serious about their training.

Our Gym comprises of a large free weights area, an outdoor training deck, an open track area and our main gym floor stocked with high quality machines and equipment.

General Terms and Conditions
In these Terms & Conditions, "BLOC GYM" whose premises is at; Unit 3 Pinewood Close, Boghall Road, Kilruddery Demesne East, Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.
"Member" means the member named when signing up for a membership or Day Pass on blocbray.ie or at our reception, which starts when BLOC GYM accepts the proposed Member's Membership Form.
"Gym" means BLOC GYM and (when a joint membership is purchased) includes JAI SUA MUAY THAI.
"Contract" means the contract between BLOC and the Member subject to these Terms & Conditions and the Gym rules.
"Application Form" or “Gym Waiver” means the form completed by the Member prior to their first session which outlines the Gym Rules.

Membership Application 
Membership is subject to these Terms & Conditions. BLOC GYM reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time. Signing up for a membership is an offer to BLOC GYM to become a Member of the gym subject to these Terms & Conditions and the club rules.The gym rules are provided within our gym waiver form, which all new members are required to sign and date before their first session. BLOC GYM reserves the right to reject any application for Membership.
Membership to BLOC GYM is available to individuals of 16 years of age and over.
Upon being accepted to the gym’s Membership scheme, the Member consents to having their photograph taken at any time whilst using the facilities, excluding changing rooms. BLOC GYM reserves the right to use any such photographs for press and/or promotional purposes.

Membership Types
​
BLOC GYM offers various Membership packages, offering a range of price versus flexibility, so that Members have choice. Memberships are available for either OFF-PEAK hours of PEAK hours.
OFF-PEAK hours are defined as: Any time before 5pm Monday to Friday and before 12pm on Sat.
​
PEAK hours are defined as: Any time during BLOC GYM opening hours.
BLOC GYM reserves the right to alter their opening hours without notice.

Monthly Minimum Term Memberships 
​
For these package types, payment recurs at the end of each term. The day is dependent on the day that the membership was started. For example: a “3 Month Monthly” membership payment recurs on the same calendar day every 3 months. These Memberships each have a minimum contract term, and Membership continues to roll until the membership is cancelled. See Point 7, below, on how to cancel a Monthly Minimum Term Membership.

“1 Month Monthly” - minimum term of one full calendar month.
“3 Month Monthly” – minimum term of three full calendar months.
“6 Month Monthly” – minimum term of six full calendar months.
“12 Month Monthly” – minimum term of twelve full calendar months.

Paid in Full Memberships 
​
For these package types, full payment is required up front, and the membership will automatically cancel at the end of the term. Members may then renew their Membership at the prevailing rate for their package type, or alternatively may switch to a rolling Monthly Membership as per above. These memberships can be paid in cash or by card at reception.
​
“6 Month Monthly” – minimum term of six full calendar months.
“12 Month Monthly” – minimum term of twelve full calendar months.
​
BLOC GYM reserves the right to introduce, withdraw and vary categories of Membership.

Joint Jai Sua/BLOC Memberships 
​
For these package types, payment recurs as per the above Monthly Minimum Term Memberships. The day is dependent on the day that the membership was started. Membership will continue to roll until the Membership is cancelled. Members must complete separate waiver forms for BLOC GYM and JAI SUA MUAY THAI respectively.
Memberships for unlimited access to both Jai Sua Muay Thai and BLOC GYM can be purchased via the Jai Sua website.

2. Switching Memberships
​
A Member may apply to switch to a different Membership type. A Member cannot switch to a Membership type with a shorter minimum term than their current contract. Any months completed on a previous Membership type will not be credited towards the minimum term of the new contract. A Member may only move onto a Membership type and rate available at the time of upgrading. These may vary from Membership types available at the Member's point of joining.

3. Initial Joining Fee and Membership Dues
​
All Members shall pay an initial Joining Fee as per the gym's current price schedule, which will be made available to you before you join as a Member. The Joining Fee is not refundable under any circumstances. The Joining fee will be billed to the payment card on file as a separate charge. If a member cancels their membership and wishes to rejoin, a second joining fee will be payable at the usual rate.

Membership is payable in advance, either fully or monthly as per the Membership type selected (see Point 3, above). Membership fees will be debited from the nominated card/account in line with the type of membership purchased. In the event that the Member falls into arrears in respect of any fees payable, all arrears must be settled before the Member can use the gym.
Membership fees may be increased at the discretion of and at any time by BLOC GYM, to take effect after the Member's minimum term, subject to at least one calendar month's written notice. Changes to pricing for new joiners may be made without notice.

Any discounted Membership options are offered on the basis that the Member can provide proof of eligibility. Members should be aware that the full fee for their Membership type may be applied until such proof is provided.
​
Where a discounted Membership option has an eligibility that could expire, such as where it is age dependant or based on student status, Membership fees may be increased by BLOC GYM after the point of expiry. As above, this would take effect after the Member’s minimum term, subject to at least one calendar month’s written notice.
​
Where a promocode offer applies, a validation check will be carried out where necessary, and where proof of eligibility cannot be verified, all offers may be reversed and any fees waived by that promocode will need to be settled by the Member.
​
BLOC GYM reserves the right to levy an administration fee of €35 if it forwards the account to a 3rd party debt collection agency in the event of non-payment of fees when due. Any lapses in Membership, including but not limited to non-payment of fees or failure to renew a Paid in Full Membership, may result in such a process being initiated.

4. Cancelling your Membership
​
Members on a Monthly Minimum Term Membership contract may cancel their Membership after or with effect from the end of the minimum term, by giving one full calendar month's advance notice. Memberships can be cancelled in writing or via email sent to blocbray@gmail.com
​
Paid in Full Memberships will expire automatically at the end of the term, unless the Member chooses to renew their Membership. No refunds are applicable for any portion of fees paid upfront.
​
Membership may not be frozen during the notice period of cancellation.
​
5. Club Facilities
​
Full details of normal opening hours are available on the BLOC GYM website or Instagram. BLOC GYM reserves the right to vary normal opening hours, temporarily remove the access to certain equipment, or to temporarily close certain areas of any Club from time to time without notice for various purpose including for cleaning, decorating, repairs, refurbishment, or for special functions and holidays.

6. Health and Safety
​
All Gym users must complete a waiver with details of all prior and/or current relevant health conditions before using the facilities. If any medical conditions are disclosed, the member must declare and sign that they have sought medical advice or wish to use the gym without doing so, and that they take full responsibility for any injury or health condition sustained whilst using the facilities arising from the medical condition. Although there is a First Aid Trained member of staff present, BLOC GYM staff are not medically trained and are therefore not qualified to assess whether the member is in appropriate physical condition to use the facilities. BLOC GYM advises all gym users to take medical advice prior to starting any exercise programme if they are in any doubt as to their ability to do so.

The Member warrants and represents upon their Membership Application Form, and repeats such warranty upon each visit to the Gym, that they are in good physical condition and know of no medical or other reason why they should not engage in any form of exercise, and that such exercise would not be detrimental to their health, safety, comfort or physical condition.
​
7. Personal Training
​
Personal trainers that operate within BLOC GYM are self-employed, independent freelance trainers. In using a Personal Trainer, you are entering into an agreement with the personal trainer alone and not with BLOC GYM.
​
8. Termination of a Membership by BLOC Gym
​
BLOC GYM may terminate a membership without notice and with immediate effect if:
​
- 
The member breaches these Terms & Conditions or the Gym Rules, either repeatedly or because of one serious breach; 
- 
Any due fees remain unpaid after any request for payment by BLOC Gym 
- 
BLOC Gym is of the opinion (acting in its discretion) that the Member is not suitable for continued Membership; 
- 
The Member puts the health, safety or well-being of staff or other Members or Guests in danger. 
9. Your Personal Information

BLOC GYM acknowledges that the security of a Members personal information is of high importance.
Members are responsible for advising BLOC GYM of changes to their personal information. Should a Member wish to update their personal information and/or request a change of Membership, this must be requested using the registered email address within the BLOC database for that Member/or made in person at the gym with a member of staff. Where BLOC GYM is required to provide any written or email notification, BLOC GYM will send the notice to the contact information on the Application Form, or any updated contact information the Member has provided since joining

10. Limitation of Liability
​
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions shall limit or exclude BLOC GYM’s liability for:
​
- 
death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or the negligence of its personnel or agents; 
- 
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or 
- 
any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law. 
Subject to that:
(a) BLOC GYM shall have no liability to the Member or Guest, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, for any indirect or consequential loss arising under or in connection with these Terms & Conditions; and
(b) BLOC GYM’s total liability to the Member or Guest, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising under or in connection with these Terms & Conditions shall be limited to €250.

11. Changes to BLOC Gym Terms & Conditions
​
BLOC GYM may from time to time amend these Terms & Conditions, including the introduction of any additional terms and conditions, and will notify Members by placing a notice at the Gym reception desk. Any changes will be effective immediately.
​
12. The Terms of Your Contract
​
A signed Gym Waiver form, these Terms and Conditions and the sharing of bank details either via the website or in person at the gym constitute a binding contract of Membership with BLOC GYM. Members are advised to read the Terms & Conditions and Gym Waiver before signing the form.
The failure of BLOC GYM to enforce any of its rights at any time for any period shall not be construed as a waiver of those rights. Any failure to identify or act upon a breach of the Terms & Conditions or Gym Rules shall not be deemed to be an affirmation by BLOC GYM that the behaviour of the Member or Guest is acceptable.
Except where permitted by this Contract, neither BLOC GYM nor the Member may alter the terms of this Contract without the express agreement of the other.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
​
These Terms & Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the law of Ireland.
Each party irrevocably agrees that the courts of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms & Conditions or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
